Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum
Tadao Ando / Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan

044|Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum
Located in Matsuyama, Ehime, the Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum was designed by Tadao Ando.
Its architecture brings together exposed concrete, expansive glass surfaces, changing views, and the surrounding greenery.
This architectural film is composed entirely from original photographs taken during my own visit.
The sequence follows the experience of approaching and moving through the architecture, focusing on walls, openings, circulation, light, glass, and views toward the surrounding landscape.
By adding time and restrained movement to still photography, the film records the experience of moving through the building while preserving the original photographs themselves.
Small bilingual Japanese / English captions provide quiet architectural context without interrupting the photography.
Tadao Ando Architecture Archive is an independent personal archive documenting more than 100 works of architecture by Tadao Ando, photographed over more than 25 years across Japan.
All photographs featured in this film were taken during my own visit to the building.
