Amtrak Cascades Trains & Amtrak Cascades Airo!

Today was the first day that we saw the Amtrak Cascades Airo trainset performing the Final Testing Phase! Amtrak Cascades is still waiting on the 7 other Airo trains and they will go into service in Fall 2026. These trains are a 6 car consist with a built in cabcar and new features. Amtrak Cascades also has 2 new ALC-42E locomotives that were purchased for the new Airo trainset’s Train consist: Business Class Coach/Cafe Coach Coach Coach Coach Meanwhile, the Amfleet 1’s & Talgo 8’s are still in service and they will be replaced soon. The SC-44’s that Amtrak Cascades has are still going to continue their career with the new trains.
