Your Chlorine Tablets Are Turning Your Pool Green (Here's Why)

Your test strip says the chlorine is fine, but the pool is still green and getting worse. That reading is lying to you, and the reason is something you drop in the floater every single week without knowing what it's really doing to your water. I'm Frank. After 25 years on service routes and behind the pool store counter, this is the green pool problem I've watched trip up more people than anything else. In this video I break down why chlorine tablets (trichlor) quietly stack up cyanuric acid, also called stabilizer or conditioner, and how too much of it locks your chlorine so the test looks normal while nothing actually kills the algae. Old timers call it chlorine lock. I'll also show you why adding more tablets or a bag of shock usually makes it worse (most bagged shock is dichlor, and it brings its own conditioner along), why no bottle on the shelf can remove cyanuric acid, and the only fix that actually works: draining part of the pool and diluting it back down.
