Today I thought we’d have some fun exploring a watercolor vignette using granulating paints, cotton-top paper, and some beautifully pointed brushes. I’ve been really enjoying how these paints separate and settle into the water, creating textures and effects that feel almost magical as they dry. This is a simple, intuitive process — placing droplets of water, touching in pigment, and letting the materials do what they naturally want to do. Along the way, I share a few thoughts on: • Using granulating paints for texture and depth • Working with water droplets and controlled flow • Choosing brushes for fine detail and soft application • Letting go and allowing the painting to evolve This kind of painting is less about control… and more about curiosity. I hope it inspires you to play, experiment, and enjoy your own creative process. Learn more at bandraoistudio.com Video by Lorenz Plourde
