1994 KTHT Fresno Z World Radio Jingles from JAM Creative Productions

This package was the one that showed me how much a jingle package really affects the sound of a station. As you heard in my previous upload, the station had been using the TM Century package from Mix 105 in NYC. One day I turned on the radio and heard these coming out of the speaker instead of that. The difference was night and day! This marked the most interesting period in the station's history. Research showed that a lot of the Hispanic population in Fresno (The market was at least 50% hispanic in 1994) was not satisfied with a traditional A/C approach. Consequently, the CHurban station across town, KBOS, was getting a lot of female Hispanic listeners in Mix 102.7's target demo management felt they didn't deserve. Program director Jon Zellner created a more uptempo format designed to appeal to both the traditional A/C demo and the large Hispanic population in town. Long story short, the approach worked and within a few books we were badly eroding KBOS' adult audience, especially in Women which was our target.
