Mae Nam is on Koh Samui's north coast, east of Ban Tai and west of Bophut. The water here is shallow and calm enough to stand in comfortably a long way out, which is a large part of why this stretch works the way it does — you can be chest-deep and still have a drink waiting on the sand.
