TCR12 – Day 4 | Norway's Mountains, Gravel Roads & Incredible Scenery

Day 4 | 22 July 2026 | Transcontinental Race No.12 🇳🇴 Day 4 of the Transcontinental Race, and another incredible day exploring the Norwegian mountains. After three long days on the bike, today was a chance to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery of the race so far. The route took me through remote mountain landscapes, past beautiful lakes and across rocky high plateaus, with plenty of gravel roads and some serious climbing along the way. One of the highlights was riding through scenery that felt almost completely untouched, with little more than the occasional mountain cabin, winding tracks and vast open landscapes. The TCR is certainly a physical challenge, but it's also an extraordinary way to discover places I'd probably never otherwise visit. With nearly 3,000 metres of climbing, it was hardly an easy day, but sometimes the views make all the effort worthwhile! *Day 4 by the numbers:* 🚴 Distance: 176 km ⛰️ Elevation: 3,008 m ⏱️ Moving time: 10 hrs 59 mins 🕒 Total elapsed time: 13 hrs 57 mins ❤️ Average heart rate: 113 bpm 🔥 Calories: 4,943 (Garmin estimate) Another memorable day in Norway, and still a very long way to Kalamata! *About this series* These videos are my personal diary of racing the Transcontinental Race No.12, a self-supported ultra-distance cycling race from Trondheim in Norway to Kalamata in Greece.
