One fateful day in Hacienda Cardinal, a young man named Roman (Geoff Eigenmann) shows up and introduces himself as Don Ismael's (Dante Rivero) bastard. However, Ismael refuses to acknowledge Roman despite the latter's efforts to gain his love. While struggling to come to terms with his father's rejection, Roman finds love in Soledad (Cristine Reyes), a pretty and kind-hearted farmer in Hacienda Cardinal. Soon enough, Don Ismael passes away, leaving the entire hacienda to Roman's care. As things slowly fall into place, Roman starts a family with Soledad. Not long after, Roman crosses paths with a woman named Alba (Roxanne Barcelo).
