Iowa State Basketball Preview: Nate Schmidt on Tamin Lipsey, Killyan Toure, & More

Iowa State basketball is ready to tip off a new season, and assistant coach Nate Schmidt joins Chris Williams on Cyclone Fanatic to break down the Cyclones’ roster, offensive identity, and what to expect this season. Schmidt discusses the transition following a busy offseason, including injuries, Tamin Lipsey’s return later in the season, and how the staff is preparing to win without him early on. He explains why this team may look different offensively, with more structure and balance, and why Iowa State hopes to have a lot more depth than in previous seasons. CW and Schmidt also discuss Dom Plata’s potential as a post scorer, the growth of Batemon as a playmaker, and how other key players fit into the team’s evolving identity.
