1985 Round 22 - Seven's Big League

The final home and away round of the 1985 season saw clubs jostling for spots in the Final 5. Carlton had to defeat Collingwood at VFL Park and rely on 5th placed North Melbourne to upset the third placed Hawthorn at Princes Park to grab the double chance. These replays were shown on Seven's Big League on August 31 along with a clash between Fitzroy and Geelong from Victoria Park. Surprisingly last placed St. Kilda defeated the second placed Footscray in a boilover on this day as well. Also shown were the Fantastic Footy Flashbacks featuring Sergio Silvagni, Palmer's Punchlines, an interview with the retiring Ron Barassi and some World Of Sport from the following Sunday.
