This isn't just another restoration; it's the homecoming of a family member.
In this video, we dive deep into the story of Nancy & Tim’s 1966 Mustang. Nancy first got this car back in 1971 when she was just 16 years old. From high school date nights and prom to bringing the kids home from the hospital, this Mustang has been the backdrop for their family’s most important memories for over 50 years.
After sitting for nearly a decade as a stalled project, the family brought the "pony that fought" to Coybilt to finally bring it back to its former glory. We performed a full mechanical and cosmetic refresh to transform it into a reliable, timeless street car that the whole family can enjoy for the next 50 years.
Build Highlights:
*- Engine:* 302 Small Block Ford with 66 289 heads and Holly HP EFI fuel injection for "bump the key and go" reliability.
*- Transmission:* AOD Automatic Overdrive for comfortable cruising.
Exhaust: Custom hand-built 2.5-inch stainless steel TIG-welded system with V-band clamps.
*- Suspension:* Full Global West suspension package with adjustable shocks and leaf springs.
*- Interior:* Period-correct Aqua TMI upholstery kit with modern Dakota Digital gauges for better visibility.
*- Cooling:* Ron Davis radiator with Spal fans and Vintage Air A/C to handle the Central Valley heat.
*- Brakes:* Wilwood master cylinder and front disc brakes.
At Coybilt, we don't just build cars; we solve problems and preserve history. Whether you have a project that’s stalled or a vision for a custom build, we’re here to help you get it on the road.
