Gayton McKenzie, MK Party, ANC & SACP on the Coalition Crossroad

ROC Day 2 Part 2: Gayton McKenzie, MK Party, ANC & SACP on the Coalition Crossroad Welcome back to Palatable Politics live from the Results Operation Centre (ROC) with host TJ Masilela! As vote counting enters the critical 80–90% mark, South Africa’s political landscape faces an unprecedented shake-up, pushing parties straight toward coalition negotiation tables. In this special Part 2 broadcast from the floor, key party bosses, satirists, and alliance leaders weigh in on the numbers, the collapse of outright majorities, and who holds the leverage: Gayton McKenzie (Patriotic Alliance): How the PA doubled its support, why pre-election polls got it completely wrong, and why he's prepared to "hold his nose" to enter coalitions without rigid red lines. Chester Missing: A biting satirical breakdown of the ANC–DA power nexus, big business pulling puppet strings behind closed doors, and the chaos of local government horse-trading. Lindiwe Mhlongo (MK Party SG): Assessing MK’s grassroots performance beyond KZN, refusing deals with "collaborators of white monopoly capital," and setting terms with the Progressive Caucus. ANC Leadership Update: Responding to the drop in PR seats, holding rural ward ground despite low voter turnout, and why all metro coalitions will be decided strictly by the NEC. Solly Mapaila (General Secretary, SACP): Running on a zero-budget community campaign, breaking away from alliance reliance, and fighting neoliberalism and corporate capture in local government. 1. 00:00 - Introduction 2. 00:21 - Gayton McKenzie on coalition politics. 3. 05:27 - Chester Missing on Election results. 4. 10:17 - Lindewam Chali (MK) Campaign strategy. 5. 15:58 - ANC Representative coalition negotiations. 6. 18:24 - Solly Mapaila (SACP) party strategy. 7. 19:30 - SACP: Community development initiatives. 8. 20:26 - Reconfiguration of the ANC alliance. 9. 23:55 - Capitalism, socialism and communism. 10. 26:03 - Election results and the ANC relationship. #PalatablePolitics #SouthAfricanPolitics #IEC2026 #SouthAfricaElections #ElectionResults #ANC #MKParty #SACP #PatrioticAlliance #GaytonMcKenzie #ChesterMissing #LindewamChali #SollyMapaila #CoalitionPolitics #GNU #PoliticalDebate #ElectionAnalysis #SouthAfricanNews #PoliticalInterviews #PoliticsSA
