Doctor, Engineer, Disappointment - The Naujavan Podcast: Spill the Chai

Aaron shares his journey from being born in Bahrain to growing up in Tamil Nadu, India, and later Liverpool as a young immigrant navigating racism, identity, and a bicultural life split between "scouser" and Tamil-church worlds. The conversation moves into deeper territory: the tension between obligation and obedience in faith, leaving university to pursue ministry against his parents' wishes, the power of vulnerability and confession in overcoming shame-driven culture, and the unique gifts and challenges of being a South Asian Christian leader in majority-white spaces. The episode closes with reflections on discipleship, imposter syndrome, and an encouraging word to South Asian young people wrestling with faith and identity — all wrapped in warm, funny, unscripted conversation.
