Blues, dark blues and cinematic blues collide in “Borrowed Shadows”, a dramatic blues-rock journey through two identities, two worlds and two versions of the same story. A powerful blues atmosphere driven by an epic saxophone, expressive guitar and the raw emotional weight of the blues. “Borrowed Shadows” explores the shadow between truth and deception: a woman who moves between two worlds, carrying two names, two roads, two faces and two lives—until even she can no longer tell which one was real. With an extended saxophone opening, a dramatic blues-rock progression, an explosive guitar-and-sax call-and-response section, and a final emotional saxophone outro, the song builds a cinematic story about identity, contradiction and the price of living behind a beautiful lie. 🎷 BORROWED SHADOWS 🎸 Blues / Blues Rock / Cinematic Blues 🔥 Epic Saxophone & Guitar 🌙 A story of two worlds, two lives and no true reflection. LYRICS (Intro) {Epic saxo solo 35 seconds} (Verse 1) She walks in the day with a borrowed name, Then dances at night inside a different flame, Two roads in her shadow, two moons in her sky, Two stories she tells, but neither is why. She wears a smile when the sun is high, Then changes her face when the stars pass by, From the north to the south, she keeps changing sides, Two doors, two keys, two places to hide. (Pre-Chorus) She built her kingdom out of smoke, Every truth was just another joke, She painted two worlds in black and white, But lost her own name in the fight. (Chorus) Double life, double name, Double fire, double flame, Double truth, double lies, Two different moons in the same sky. Double heart, double face, Two empty thrones in a borrowed place, She has two lives, or so she says, But there was never a life to save. (Verse 2) She keeps a secret inside a secret, A second truth that no one can read, One for the day, one for the night, One for the dark, one for the light. She crosses the poles with a frozen smile, Then burns the south for a little while, Every road she takes has a parallel road, Every story she tells carries a different load. She built a house with a mirror for a door, Then built another house inside the floor, Room after room, she added a lie, Till she couldn't remember which self was alive. (Pre-Chorus) She built her kingdom out of smoke, Every promise was a hidden choke, She painted two worlds in black and white, And lost her own shadow in the night. (Chorus) Double life, double name, Double fire, double flame, Double truth, double lies, Two different moons in the same sky. Double heart, double face, Two empty thrones in a borrowed place, She has two lives, or so she says, But there was never a life to save. (Bridge) {Epic call and response between Guitar and saxo 40 seconds} North pole, south pole, Two extremes, one hollow soul, Day turns night, Truth turns lie, Two wings but she never learned to fly. She had two keys but no home, Two voices but she spoke alone, Two roads but no direction, Two lives but no reflection. (Final Chorus) Double life, double name, Double fire, double flame, Double truth, double lies, Two different moons in the same sky. Double world, double door, Double everything, but nothing more, She built two lives from a beautiful lie, Now she has two lives— and neither is why. (Outro) {saxo solo 20 seconds} Two suns rise, two moons fall, Two shadows dance along the wall, She had everything she could pretend— Two lives beginning, and no life in the end. #Blues #BluesRock #CinematicBlues #BluesMusic #Saxophone #BluesGuitar #RockBlues #BorrowedShadows #OriginalMusic #SaxophoneSolo #GuitarSolo #DownTheBluesRoad
