Bushnell Motorsports Park - BMP Fall League Round 1 2026 - Full Layout

The Fall Season Opener back to racing on Thursdays at night! This round is called the full layout. We've driven this layout many laps, and it is by far the most fun. About 30 light class drivers signed up for this round. We only have Race 1 to show you guys as we didn't do our due diligence in making sure our SD card had plenty of space left on it for both races. Won't happen again! Race 1 we start P5 which was fine with us as we were still on the inside for the start. Lap one, huge incident at pit entry turn put a couple guys sideways right in front of us. P1 and P2 checked out quite a bit as they were the only ones not involved. We had a good kart and were able to get right up on the back of them in one lap. Knowing the kart situation, there was no fighting to slow any of us up in the top three. Instead, we used our gap and pace to our advantage and gave us a huge push ahead of everyone else. Working together with those who are good really works to your advantage in these scenarios. Eventually, we know we have to move up and make quick work of getting into P2. P1 kart wasn't slow and knew we had to setup a pass. Our best spot was down the hill as we were much stronger getting through the pit in turn. We had to fight for P1 a little bit, but it worked out. We then had to make sure we hit our marks and keep P2 behind us and build a gap. That we did and we brought home P1 for the first race of the season. A good feeling! Race 2 we start on pole as we had fastest lap of Race 1. The kart was dead cold as it wasn't previously raced. No heat into the tires at all had us pushing through every corner. We quickly got freight trained under the bridge on lap 1 falling back to mid pack right at the start of back straight on lap 1. Going into the final turn on lap 1 we get punted from behind pushing and spinning us completely backwards off the track at full speed. Wish we had this incident on video as a learning tool for the one that made a mistake, but our good buddy Patrick was right behind us and caught the incident clear as day. Was a scary off! This completely ended our race as by time we got back on track, last place guy was ahead of us by a good 10-15 seconds. Our kart eventually woke up once some heat was built up in the tires and the motor and we then consistently put in flyer after flyer. The field was so far ahead of us, we didn't race anyone. We did catch the next guy ahead of us on the last lap. What a bummer that such a stupid simple mistake can completely take you out ruining half of your night, but more importantly points for the entire season. The next race is outer loop layout which has no thrill about it. We'll make the best of it! Tune in to see what happens.
