Building God a Worship Place

Bishop Yow takes us to the book of I Chronicles 21:23-28 the narrative describes King David's purchase of a threshing floor from Ornan (also called Araunah) the Jebusite, which David insists on buying at full price rather than accepting as a gift. This site becomes significant as David builds an altar there to the LORD and offers burnt and peace offerings. The passage highlights David's respect for the sanctity of offerings, emphasizing that sacrifices to God should not be taken without cost. The altar's acceptance by God is demonstrated by fire coming down from heaven to consume the offerings, a divine response that confirms the site's sanctity and God's favor.
