Kristoffer Helle - Toto - Stranger in Town - Bass

It might be so that Isolation is my favorite Toto album. I’m not really sure but I think so. This song is written by David Paitch and Jeff Porcaro and sung by the amazing David Paitch. There’s no real bass on this one, just synth bass. Seems like I’ve been doing a lot of those lately. I try to play it like it is, but I’m not really sure if I do. Sometimes it’s hard to know what’s in the record and what’s in my head. A great thing about this song is that Fergie Frederiksen’s amazing vocals just comes in at the end. They don’t overkill it like most music today does. It’s too much of everything all the time and they never let the music breathe. There’s no dynamic and the production sounds dead. I could go in for hours about this but my advice today is to listen to Toto and take some inspiration from their arrangements.
