Woody and Cheryl Granger are members of Former Adventist Fellowship at Trinity Church in Redlands, California. Cheryl, a board member of Life Assurance Ministries, grew up a fourth-generation Adventist in a medical professional home. Woody was a second generation Adventist. Although much of his schooling occurred in public schools, he nonetheless adopted Adventism as his spiritual identity as well. Both Cheryl and Woody attended the FAF 2008 conference. Cheryl had already decided she had to let Adventism go in order to follow Jesus, but Woody was still unconvinced. Last year, at the 2009 FAF conference, Woody sat in Dale Ratzlaff's break-out session and heard him explain a passage from Galatians. As Woody listened, he realized he was holding the Lord Jesus at arm's length from himself. He says he figuratively put down his arms and allowed Jesus to come near. His life changed in that moment. Woody and Cheryl have five grown children between them and eight grandchildren.
