Senior advocates, including Kapil Sibal, raised concerns about proposed restrictions on Metro and railway services ahead of the October 10 demonstration. The Supreme Court observed that peaceful protests must operate within the framework of the law. It questioned why the denial of permission for the protest had not been challenged, while also making clear that security arrangements should not bring Delhi’s public transport network to a complete standstill.
