About Geet Govind #Geet #Govind is a poetry composed by famous #Sanskrit #Poet #Jaideva in 12th century. Jaideva was a poet in the court of #Lakshmansena, the last Hindu ruler of #Bengal in 12th century. The name of the wife of Jaideva was #Padmavati who was quite modest and devoted to Jaideva. She was a temple dancer and she also used to help in writing Geet Govind. In 15th century, Geet Govind became the focus of Bengali #Vaishanavism propagated by famous saint #Chetanya #Mahaprabhu. The book describes in detail the experience of love between #Radha and Krishna in form of #Raas #Leelas. These Raas Leelas were sported on the bank of river #Yamuna in the forest or woodlands.
