In this video, I drive through one of the most unreal places in China – the high‑altitude Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area on the Sichuan Aba Plateau, at over 4,000 meters above sea level. The road cuts through endless grassland slopes, jagged rock mountains and glacier‑carved valleys that look more like a fantasy game or alien planet than the real world. Lianbao Yeze (Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area) sits on the eastern edge of the Qinghai‑Tibet Plateau, between Aba County in Sichuan and Jiuzhi County and Banma County in Qinghai, with an area of hundreds of square kilometers and average altitude above 4,000 m. It is famous in Tibetan culture as a holy mountain region, but for drivers and travelers it feels like stepping into a “Warcraft‑like” fantasy highland: stone castles of rock, turquoise lakes, dramatic cliffs and wild high‑altitude grasslands. This 4K HDR drive takes you along real plateau roads in western Sichuan – no CGI, no movie set, just the raw power of China’s high‑altitude landscape.
