Family-Style Southern Cooking at The Farmer’s Daughter | Chuckey, TN

This week, Timm Travels heads to The Farmer’s Daughter in Chuckey, Tennessee, where dinner is served family-style and they definitely don’t send you home hungry! We visited with some friends and got to experience what makes this place so popular. Each table chooses two meats, and everything is brought out for the table to share, family style. The food and service were both excellent, and at the time of our visit it was an incredible value at about $20 per person, including a drink and dessert. For me, though, the surprise of the meal was the cornbread. I’m not normally a huge cornbread fan, but this was warm and crispy on the outside while still crumbly and chewy inside. I could have eaten a ridiculous amount of it if there hadn’t been so much other food on the table! Anna’s favorite was the bread pudding, which she thought was absolutely delicious. One important thing to know before you visit: The Farmer’s Daughter is CASH OR CHECK ONLY. They do not accept credit or debit cards, so make sure you come prepared.
