The Smallest Athearn Locomotive Made in 1957

In the 1950s Athearn was interested in getting into the market of small four wheel locomotives. The only other manufacturer at the time making such a thing was Penn Line so in order to get a leg up they sold their models for half of what Penn Line did. These locomotives included their new HI-F drive which allowed them to go around 250 scale mph.
