Fields of Valour Normandy is a WW2 turn‑based hex‑strategy game set during the Normandy campaign, built around tight tactical decision‑making, brutal frontline combat, and a clean, readable hex‑grid battlefield. Every unit matters, infantry pushing through hedgerows, armour duelling across open fields, artillery hammering positions, and minefields waiting to punish careless movement. The game blends classic wargaming mechanics with modern clarity: reachable‑tile previews, munitions capture bonuses, dug‑in defensive states, and a simple but effective AI that manoeuvres, attacks, and reacts to your choices. It’s designed to feel authentic without being overwhelming, giving players that satisfying “one more turn” pull as they fight for control of the map. I’m a solo indie developer building Fields of Valour Normandy from the ground up, code, design, UI, sound, and all the little systems that make a strategy game tick. I’m developing it in GameMaker Studio, sharing progress as I go, fixing bugs live, refining mechanics, and shaping the game through constant iteration.
