Rain, rivers, lakes—and no liquid water on the surface. On Saturn's moon Titan, methane can drive a weather cycle that feels strangely familiar.
Follow the evidence from Cassini's radar echoes to the Huygens landing: how scientists identified liquid-filled landscapes, why methane can stay liquid in extreme cold, and what keeps its cycle going.
Original explanatory animations are labelled as schematics. Archival radar maps use assigned colors; infrared views and processed Huygens images are labelled. Illustrations of rain are reconstructions, not footage of individual raindrops. No life has been detected on Titan.
