With cloudy skies and temperatures reaching around 30°C, today’s drive offers a different side of Beijing — one far away from office towers, shopping centers, and rush-hour traffic. Located in northern Beijing, Huairou is largely surrounded by mountains and is well known as a popular weekend escape for people looking for fresh air, rural scenery, and a slower pace of life. Along the way, we’ll pass through countryside roads and village areas, taking a closer look at what everyday life feels like beyond the city center. This isn’t a typical sightseeing trip.
