BDF EMT Secures Water Systems for Field Hospital in Jamaica! The Barbados Defence Force’s (BDF) Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Field Medical Hospital achieved another critical milestone in its deployment to Jamaica under Operation Helping Hands, completing the installation and testing of water management systems essential for the facility’s safe and effective operation. Water safety management were led by Lieutenant G. Thompson, who holds responsibility for water quality and overall water management. His team conducted water quality testing to ensure that all water entering the camp meets required safety standards for consumption, hygiene, and medical use. These tests form a vital part of the hospital’s health and safety protocols, ensuring readiness before clinical operations begin. In addition to testing, Lt Thompson coordinated the installation of water distribution lines across the campsite. These connections will supply potable water to the accommodation area, kitchen, and hospital sections. He was supported by Mr. Ricardo Patrick, who provided technical expertise, and members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Engineering Troop, whose manpower and skill contributed to the efficient assembly and securing of the system.
