Southern Pacific SD40’s Final Run | WAMX 4246’s Last Days in SP Colors

"i was disappointed to hear the k3 of wamx 4246" -me, 2026 (gosh did i eat those words) man did this one hit hard WAMX 4246 has long been an icon to railfans of my local area and beyond for its completely unrecognizable SP paint. however, time has caught up, and watco elected to repaint the unit at the end of this summer. it sure was sad to see it dead in tow on the SKOL after nine years of enjoying this locomotive’s frequent appearances in front of my cameras. while its sad to see its horribly faded SP colors go, at least we will be able to continue to see this old gal for years to come. farewell, old friend.
