Michael Wycoff – Looking Up To You (Dave Lee fka Joey Negro Super Sweet Mix)

Available now - https://www.zrecords.ltd.uk/new-releases One of two Webster Lewis productions included on the album. "Looking Up To You" was written by soul superstar Leon Ware and Zane Grey (half of Grey and Hanks). It’s a great song but what gives it the magical edge is Webster’s jazzy rhodes refrain, which was very successfully sampled by R&B act Zhane for their hit “Hey Mr. DJ". One thing I was never that keen on in the original is the chords in the chorus, which are a bit traditional for my taste. Luckily I found the chorus vocals worked great over Webster's rhodes riff, so it was a way of incorporating more of that whilst getting rid of the bit I didn’t like so much.
