Motorcycling the Austrian Alps – Until the Road Said NO! 🇦🇹🏍️

🏍️ *Motorcycling through the Austrian Alps – what could possibly go wrong?* 🇦🇹 This was one of those motorcycle holiday days that had a little bit of everything: beautiful Austrian mountain roads, incredible scenery, the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls… and one small navigation mistake that cost me quite a few extra kilometres. 😂 The GPX route for this day's ride was around **230 km through the Austrian Alps**, and one of my planned stops was at the famous **Krimml Waterfalls**. With a total drop of around 380 metres, the Krimml Waterfalls are an incredible sight and definitely worth stopping for if you're riding through this part of Austria. But then it was time to get back on the motorcycle. I found myself riding along a fantastic mountain road. Beautiful scenery, lovely corners and exactly the sort of road you come to Austria for. There was just one problem... Apparently, somewhere along the way, I had missed a sign. 🤦‍♂️ *After riding about 24 kilometres down the road, I discovered that the road was CLOSED.* There was only one thing I could do. Turn the motorcycle around... and ride those 24 kilometres all the way back again. 😂 Well, if you're going to make a mistake, there are certainly worse places to make one than on a beautiful Austrian mountain road! This video is a little different from my normal workshop videos. No brake fluid, no torque wrench and hopefully no broken BMW parts — just me, the motorcycle and some fantastic roads through Austria.
