The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man (Short Film)

This is a non-profit, feature-length film unaffiliated with Marvel, Sony, or Disney - created by fans of the character. Haunted by the love of his life’s tragic death, Peter Parker lingers in his guilt of the past, questioning whether the curse of his alter ego should be buried for good. When he learns that a child inspired by Spider-Man has requested to meet him, Peter contemplates the choice to don the mask one more time. Based on SPIDER-MAN: BLUE and THE KID WHO COLLECTS SPIDER-MAN. Lotus began as a short film idea that grew much bigger than I was prepared for. The final cut didn’t connect the way I hoped, so I’ve gone back to the smaller, more personal version it was meant to be. This recut refocuses on the heart: a contained story about a traumatized superhero coming to terms with his imposter syndrome. It’s tighter, more focused, and truer to the spirit of what I set out to make. Some imperfections remain, but that’s part of the record of where I was then, and where I am now. I’m still proud of what the cast and crew accomplished, and I’m grateful to take one more swing at the greatest character in all of fiction.
