Welcome back to Wilfred The Analyst!
In this second video of our MIMIC-IV clinical research and healthcare data analytics series, we walk through the practical steps of setting up Google BigQuery to work with the MIMIC-IV clinical database.
We will connect to the PhysioNet data project, configure our own Google Cloud project, create a research dataset, and execute our first SQL query to confirm that everything is working correctly.
Research Project
Clinical Characteristics and Hospital Outcomes Among Adult ICU Patients: A Retrospective MIMIC-IV Cohort Study
Throughout this tutorial series, we will consistently use the following project configuration:
• Project Name: MIMIC-IV Adult ICU Outcomes
• Project ID: mimic-icu-outcomes-11
• Dataset ID: mimic_icu_outcomes_11
• Dataset Location: US
What You Will Learn
1. Confirming PhysioNet and Google BigQuery access.
2. Opening Google BigQuery through Google Cloud Console.
3. Starring the PhysioNet data project (physionet-data).
4. Creating your own Google Cloud project.
5. Setting up your research Project ID.
6. Creating a BigQuery dataset and selecting its location.
7. Running your first SQL query against the MIMIC-IV ICU stays table.
8. Verifying your dataset configuration.
