Uhuru Highway–Westlands Renovation The Uhuru Highway–Westlands corridor is undergoing road improvement works as part of wider upgrades linking Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) with Westlands. The works are intended to improve traffic movement, road safety and the overall appearance of this important Nairobi corridor. Key improvements include: Road and pavement rehabilitation to improve driving conditions. Drainage improvements to help manage storm water and reduce flooding. Additional or improved lanes and junctions to increase traffic capacity. Pedestrian facilities and walkways to make the corridor safer and more accessible. Landscaping and beautification, including landscaped road reserves and improved streetscapes. Better integration with the Nairobi Expressway, which provides an elevated alternative route through the city toward Westlands.
