Sept. 13, 2026 | Beyond Good and Wicked

We value your participation in worship today! Everyone is welcome at Belmont Heights UMC & Grace on 3rd. We are two Long Beach congregations worshiping together for a season. ABOUT THIS SERVICE Who gets to decide who is good, who is wicked, who is faithful, and who falls short? Paul wrote to a church where people disagreed about faith and practice, sometimes strongly. His question to them was pretty direct: “Why do you pass judgment on your brother or sister?” And then he reminded them of something we still need to hear: we belong to God. This morning, we’ll think about the labels we give each other and how quickly those labels can become the whole story. Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked help us see what happens when “Good” and “Wicked” stop being quite so easy to tell apart. Maybe the closer we get to one another, the harder those labels are to hold onto. We see fragments. God sees the whole person.
