Will I Lose Everything? When I Follow The Calling?

Will I lose everything when I follow the calling? That fear sits underneath almost every real step of obedience: losing family, friends, the identity you've spent your whole life building. Buddy's honest answer: the hardest part of his own obedience wasn't giving up lust, alcohol, or the lifestyle — it was the fear of who he'd be without those things. "If I don't have those things, who am I? Who's gonna approve of me?" Acts 20:22-24 — Paul, compelled by the Spirit, walks toward known hardship in Jerusalem and says, "I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me." This is the same man who once ordered a disciple stoned to death. Today we're breaking down: Acts 20:22-24 and Paul's radical reversal from persecutor to apostle Why the fear of losing identity is often scarier than the fear of losing sin Why you can't preach or teach what you haven't actually lived Why Scripture is meant to be encountered as living, not read like a history book This closes out the devotional series on calling and purpose.
