LIVE – 1000xRESIST Pt. 2 | What Does It Mean To Be God?

1000xRESIST IS BACK. And holy shit, Sonny is INVESTED. After a first stream that started a little slow, Sonny finally got his bearings in the strange world of 1000xRESIST and, once everything started clicking into place, he was completely hooked. The world, the characters, the weird rules of the Orchard, and especially the story of Iris have all grabbed his attention. As someone who is an immigrant himself, Sonny has found a lot of Iris's story surprisingly relatable, and the game's exploration of identity, immigration, generational trauma, memory, isolation, and life in a post-COVID world has given us plenty to think about. And now it's time to see where this absolutely wild story goes next. WHAT HAPPENED SO FAR? For anyone who missed the first stream, here's a quick recap of the first three acts: Humanity is nearly extinct after the arrival of mysterious alien beings known as the Occupants. Their arrival brought a deadly disease that wiped out most of humanity, with a teenage girl named Iris being the only known person immune to it. A thousand years later, Iris is still alive and has created a society of clones known as the Sisters. They live underground in a place called the Orchard, where they worship Iris as the ALLMOTHER and believe she is humanity's best hope against the Occupants. Sonny plays as Watcher, a newly appointed Sister whose job is to use a strange device called Secretary to enter the ALLMOTHER's memories through a process called Communion. At first, Watcher is completely devoted to the ALLMOTHER and the society she's created. But that starts falling apart when Watcher's closest friend, Fixer, claims that the ALLMOTHER has been lying to everyone. Fixer is subsequently declared a traitor, and Watcher is left questioning everything she's been taught. Through Communions with the other Sisters, Watcher begins learning more about Iris's past, including her life before the apocalypse, the arrival of the Occupants, the desperate attempts to preserve humanity, and the origins of the Orchard and the Sisters. The more Watcher learns, the harder it becomes to separate Iris the person from Iris the ALLMOTHER. Then everything goes completely off the rails. After an Occupant attack devastates the Orchard and Watcher discovers that the beings humanity fears may have a much more complicated relationship with Iris than she was ever told, Watcher decides that she needs answers. Those answers lead her to the ALLMOTHER herself. And by the end of the third act, Watcher has made an irreversible decision that completely changes the future of the Orchard. That's where we're picking things back up. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? 1000xRESIST is a narrative-heavy sci-fi adventure that constantly shifts between different styles of gameplay and storytelling. One moment you're exploring the Orchard, the next you're walking through Iris's memories, solving puzzles, talking to Sisters, or watching the game's increasingly strange story unfold. And judging by where we've gotten so far, we have absolutely no idea where this thing is going. That's what makes this stream so exciting.
