A piece of sycamore from a local tree. This log had been sitting for 3 years, so was nice and dry, but had a couple of cracks that I hoped would go way, but didn't. I used the method of adding copper wire to secure and make a feature of the crack. I think that it works quite well and I'm happy with it. The finished bowl measures 240mm x 100mm (9 1/2" x 4") Thank you for watching Bowl Sanding tool https://amzn.to/3FIxYU1 Gouge Chisel Sharpening Jig https://amzn.to/3LU3sYZ Charnwood Lathe https://amzn.to/3KDnkxK Gorilla Glue https://amzn.to/3s9LCt3 Bees Wax Oil https://amzn.to/48h7Jk8 *If you shop through these links, I may receive a small commission. The price is the same for you, but it helps support me as a beginner woodturner in my quest to get a better lathe to make even bigger projects, and I really appreciate it! Note this is NOT an instructional video, or designed for any education purposes, it is simply my own personal steps on my wood turning journey. #oakbowl #woodturning #rdmwoodturning
