Ali is diagnosed with agenesis of the corpus callosum (a condition where the two hemispheres of the brain are disconnected) and Mowat-Wilson Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder caused by a chromosome mutation. This unique combination impacts how Ali interacts with the world.
