The man who orchestrated Tupac Shakur's murder is set to learn his fate Tuesday in Las Vegas. Duane “Keffe D” Davis faces life in prison without parole after a jury convicted him in August of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon for Shakur's death. Tupac was just 25 when he was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting near the Las Vegas Strip on Sept. 7, 1996. He died six days later. Davis, 63, remains the only person ever charged or convicted in Shakur's murder case. Although Davis was not accused of firing the fatal shots, prosecutors relied heavily on his own statements to investigators, interviews and a 2019 memoir in which he described his involvement in the shooting. His defense argued there was insufficient physical evidence connecting him to the crime and claimed Davis exaggerated his involvement for financial gain. After nine days of testimony, jurors deliberated for approximately three hours before finding Davis guilty. He has said he plans to appeal. Tupac’s siblings, Maurice “Mopreme” Shakur and Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, are expected to speak during sentencing. Watch LIVE from Las Vegas as Davis learns his sentence and Tupac’s family addresses the court more than three decades after his murder. _______________ ABOUT Criminally Obsessed is first on the scene, uniting fellow armchair detectives in their quest to crack the case.
