Thatcher Cottage
A new little house and a small story! 😊
The Story:
Thatcher Cottage was originally built as a small guest house for a larger home nearby. Over the years, it served many purposes, from an art studio to a storage shed. It eventually stood empty for many years before briefly becoming a short-term rental.
The cottage was later purchased by a retired woman who decided to downsize after her husband passed away. She has since carefully restored it and made it her home. She especially enjoys tending the window boxes, filling them with flowers that bring a little color and life back to the old cottage.
Description:
I wanted Thatcher Cottage to have a cozy storybook feel, so I used a soft cream exterior, muted green shutters, a dusty pink front door, and plenty of greenery around the entrance. The climbing vine and flowers became one of my favorite parts of the build, especially once they started wrapping around the doorway and chimney.
For the landscaping, I wanted everything to feel full and slightly overgrown, with flowers, greenery, a small white fence, and a simple path leading to the front door. Warm lighting inside the windows adds to the cozy feeling once the house is complete.
I hope you enjoy watching Thatcher Cottage come together.

Until the next little house. 🌿🏡
