Johann David Heinichen (1683--1729) was a late Baroque German composer who brought the Venetian music style to the court of Dresden. Arguably have the greatest pool of musical talent of Europe at the time, the solo concertos evolved there into that for multiple solo instruments (per molti strumenti). Championing the newer compositional style and calling many German composers' adherence to counterpoint "old-fashioned", the Dresden concertos are full of color and spirit.
