After two knee replacements, Sue wasn't ready to give up her motorbike.
Riding is how Sue sees Europe, meets her friends and spends her summers camping. But over winter she noticed she was getting weaker, and she knew she needed the strength to carry on. So she started personal training with Maya at Revitalize Clinic in Gravesend, twice a week.
Now Sue gets up from a chair without thinking about it, gets down to the floor and back up again to camp, and holds her own on every ride. In her words: "I was an old lady rider. Now I'm an older lady riding."
New knees can ease pain, but they don't bring back the strength you had before. Strength training after surgery and in later life can help you stay steady, independent and doing what you love.
