Listen for instance at bars 9-12 which are played staccato and the bars 17-18 which are played legato and again bars 19-20 are staccato . Most notes in this bassline are belonging to the chord or scale, but Lee Rocker sometimes chooses for melodic passing notes which are not part of the chord/scale.
