I’ve spent a lifetime counting every bruise I’ve walked a thousand miles with nothing left to lose I thought the desert was the only place I’d know I watched the seeds of bitterness begin to grow I’ve been through the fire, I’ve been through the flood I’ve tasted the salt and I’ve felt the blood I used to wonder why the road was always steep And why the promises were never meant to keep. Every heartbreak was a stone in a wall I was waiting for the gravity to make it all fall I didn't know that the darkness and the grey Were just the price that I was forced to pay. But then I found you in the middle of the wreck! A sudden light that I didn't expect! And every wound is starting to close Like a garden blooming underneath the snows! All the years of hollow, all the years of pain Are washing away in the gentle rain! You’re the healing, you’re the grace In the architecture of this broken place! Yeah, I look at my hands and I see the scars But they look like a map to the distant stars I had to lose my way just to find your heart I had to fall to pieces just to become a part Of something bigger than the noise in my head I’m living the words that I never even said You’re the answer to the questions I forgot to ask I’m finally taking off the heavy mask. I HAD TO BREAK! I HAD TO ACHE! IT WAS ALL FOR THIS! EVERY TEAR, EVERY FALL! YOU WERE WORTH THE WAIT THROUGH IT ALL! I found you in the middle of the wreck... EVERY WOUND IS STARTING TO CLOSE! LIKE A GARDEN BLOOMING UNDERNEATH THE SNOWS! All the years of hollow, all the years of pain Are washing away... in the gentle rain. The scars are still there... But they don't hurt anymore. I’m finally home.
