Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 29 October 2026. Today’s South Africa video opens with a water pipe burst in the main street of Upington. A burst water pipe and the municipality’s struggle to get it fixed. From there, night racing at Zululand Yacht Club in Richard's Bay. We travel across South Africa and beyond, bringing you viewer footage from Upington, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Pretoria, Kimberley, the Kruger National Park, Durban, the Garden Route and more. See a night race at Zululand Yacht Club in Richards Bay, the Redstone Solar Energy project near Postmasburg, wildlife in the Klaserie and Thornybush reserves, coastal views from Hout Bay, Glentana and Shelly Beach, and an A340-600 at Cape Town International Airport. We also visit the Automechanika trade show in Midrand before heading to Mahé in the Seychelles and KaNyaka Island in Mozambique.

South Africa Weather for Today & Tomorrow Update
A sweltering weekend as most regions brace for very hot conditions, especially in the west where a persistent high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere will keep temperatures soaring through Saturday. While tomorrow will bring widespread heat and dry weather with little to no rain, relief is on the horizon: a cold front is forecast to move in by Sunday, ushering in cooler air and breaking the heatwave in several areas. As the weekend progresses, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase, with scattered rain expected across parts of South Africa. Despite the promise of cooler weather, fire danger remains extremely high in the Kamiesberg region of the Northern Cape Province and the Matzikama municipality in the Western Cape, so residents are urged to remain vigilant for potential veld fires. With these dramatic shifts in temperature and weather, it’s wise to plan outdoor activities carefully and stay updated on local forecasts.
