Grand Teton Got Way Too Crowded… Then We Found This.
We came to Grand Teton National Park expecting some incredible scenery and a great few days exploring the park. What we didn't expect was just how crowded it would be — even early in the morning.
After seeing the crowds around Jenny Lake, parking challenges, and lines everywhere we turned, we decided it was time to look for something a little quieter. And that's when we found a completely different side of the Grand Teton area.
We headed into the Teton National Forest, found a great campsite for just $10 a night with our senior discount, and settled in for a couple of much-needed quiet days. We even went looking for some hot springs… although that didn't quite turn out the way we expected!
Eventually, it was time to head back toward Jackson and take on Teton Pass in the rain before continuing our journey.
We're Gray & Grumpy — retired, over 60, and still exploring America in our self-converted camper van. We're showing what retirement travel and van life really look like after 60 — the amazing places, the unexpected detours, and yes… the things that make us a little grumpy.
Thanks for coming along with us!
