Chasing the Moon

Some people are like moonlight. Even when you cannot touch them, they can still illuminate a place within your heart. The inspiration for this music comes from a memory I treasure — watching her chase the waves along the shoreline beneath the moonlight, laughing as she ran toward the water and laughing again as the waves chased her back. In that moment, she was happy and free, as beautiful as moonlight dancing upon the sea. Only later did I understand the quiet irony of that memory — she was chasing waves she could never quite touch, and I was reaching for someone who sometimes feels just as far beyond my fingertips. Some things we chase because we want to hold them.
