Tomorrowland Autopia Disneyland Original 1955 Safety Spiels

Happy 71st birthday to Disneyland, opened on July 17, 1955! This is the actual original 1955 safety spiels for the Tomorrowland Autopia at Disneyland. Although I thought I had uploaded this before, it turns out that it was actually the 1959 version. I believe this version of the spiels was used from 1955 until 1959. The Autopia is one of several 1955 opening day attractions that are still around today. Although it has changed drastically over the years, the core concept where almost anyone, including children, can drive a car, remains the same. From 1955-1965, there was no central guide rail for the cars, giving the cars a wider range of motion. In 1965, the central guide rail was added in order to provide a safer experience. The cars were redesigned a few times between 1955 and 1968 by Disney Legend Bob Gurr, one of the greatest Imagineers of all time. They were most recently redesigned in the 2000 refurbishment, which also resulted in a redesigned and expanded queue. As of July 2026, the Autopia cars at Disneyland are still running on antiquated gas engines, but thankfully a long overdue conversion to all electric engines is finally taking place in 2027. Autopia is a classic attraction and the only remaining opening day attraction in Tomorrowland. I hope you enjoy this extremely rare audio! I do not own any audio or pictures used in this video.
