There is a place between what was and what will be, between certainty and possibility, between the world we understand and the mystery we cannot name. This is the liminal space. It can feel grey here. Unsettling. Disquieting. We may instinctively reach for something solid — an explanation, a belief, a familiar story that tells us where we are and what it all means. But perhaps there is another invitation: to remain in the “I don’t know.” When the structures through which we usually interpret life begin to soften, something unexpected becomes possible. We are no longer trying to define the experience, defend a position, or shape the mystery into something we already understand. There is simply space. And into that spaciousness, Love can pour. Perhaps God finds us especially easily here — in uncertainty, openness and vulnerability — when we have loosened our grip on knowing and become available to what is. What first appears to be emptiness may actually be an opening. What feels like uncertainty may become a doorway. What seems like an in-between place may be alive with Presence. As Rumi reminds us, “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” Liminal Spaciousness is an invitation to move gently through these openings — through the mystery, the unknown, the spaces between — and discover that we do not always need to know where we are going. Sometimes we need only become spacious enough for Love to find its way through. Original music made by Heather in Bitwig with SurgeXT, Valhalla Supermassive, and Paul Stretch.
