"Tony Roberts has been a maverick in surf photography since the early 80's. Besides pioneering the "follow" angle in skate video (and surf videos), in the surfing world he was the first to take an aggressive and uncommon approach to water photography with his use of the fisheye lens- Tony invented the skate style water shot angle and many others, which was brought to the world with his major play in Surfing Magazine and various NBD video angles to the world in his groundbreaking films and videos, documenting the beginning of the aerial revolution in surfing with his Santa Cruz crew and ushering in a new wave of above the lip surfing that forged the career of many top professionals and helped change surfing forever to what it is today.
